Slightly thick and creamy
Milky white in colour
Neutrogena sunscreen does contain artificial fragrance BUT it is not too strong.
Neutrogena sunscreen was one of the very first sunscreens that i used along with the lotus herbals one.
The consistency of the sunscreen is very creamy so you can skip the moisturiser if you want or go for a very light gel moisturiser.
The fragrance is very mild and does not bother me at all. But if you have sensitive skin, better go for a fragrance free sunscreen as this may or may not suit your skin.
Even though the sunscreen is quite creamy, it spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly.
The finish on Neutrogena sunscreen is unfortunately greasy and shiny on my normal skin just like the LA Shield sunscreen.😥 I have to use a compact to make it bearable. But once i bloat my face, it does not look oily or dull until reapplication.
There is a mild white cast which does fade away quickly. BUT, if you are applying 3 finger full as it is the recommended amount for the face and neck, this will leave your face look like a grease ball and the white cast is quite prominent too. So, 1 teaspoon full is kind of impossible to work with.
Coming to the sun protection factor, Neutrogena sunscreen certainly wins by a landslide in that regard. I have never gotten tanned while using this sunscreen. I buy this on sale so i can use this sunscreen on my hands too.
Trust me, i have used it in various climates too like, the winters in Patna and Kodaikanal, a full day May wedding in Mumbai. It does not melt off or feel uncomfortable under makeup.
In cold winter season, i needed a good moisturiser as the sunscreen was not enough to hydrate the dry patches on my face.
📌 Since the sunscreen is quite greasy, it did break me out the first couple of times. This was during the summer season, i stopped using it for about 2 weeks and tried again but ended up with the same results. However i winter season, this did not break me out.
📌 I cannot applied this on my eyelids. It makes my eyes burn and they become watery. So i just skip that area.
📌 It made my skin mildly itchy and tingly. I think it is because of Benzophenone-3 and the artificial fragrance in this sunscreen.😥
📌 After i apply one teaspoon full of sunscreen as recommended, my face feels uncomfortable and starts to sweat profusely.
📌Neutrogena sunscreen contains harmful ingredients like Benzophenone-3(Oxybenzone) which disrupts the hormones when absorbed in to the blood stream.
UPDATE ON 08/07/2022:
I gave positive review for this sunscreen 8 years ago because i was using a pea size amount only. When i tried this again(1 teaspoon full) quite recently, oh my gosh it felt terrible as the sunscreen made my skin greasy and ashy, itchy and red not to say, it broke me out too.
