MY EXPERIENCE
Skin Type – Normal Sensitive
I decided to buy the Be minimalist sunscreen because it is free from fragrance, octinoxate(Octyl methoxycinnamate or (OMC)) and Benzophenone-3(Oxybenzone).👍 That is a big plus when it comes to sensitive skin.
The sunscreen comes in a pump bottle packaging which may lead to product wastage, assuming i cant break open the bottle decently.😁
Although the consistency is quite creamy, it spreads easily. This sunscreen does take a minute or two to blend into the skin completely.
In summer season, It settles to a non sticky dewy finish on my normal skin.
When the sunscreen touches the areas that are peeling it does sting/burn a little but it went away quickly. I did not notice any redness or irritation post application.
As i mentioned earlier, there is absolutely no white cast so it is most certainly suitable for every skin tone.👍
NEGATIVE POINTS
The Be minimalist sunscreen is not water/sweat resistant so,
- It is mainly suitable for indoor use, air conditioned environment or the winter season.
Do not trust this sunscreen alone and roam around in the peak hours(10am-3pm) as this sunscreen would just melt and comes off with each and every wipe.😭
BREAKOUTS?
The very first time i used this sunscreen, i ended up with a really tiny painful pimples near my lips and forehead.
I really hoped this sunscreen would work for me.😭
Once the pimple heals, i will give this sunscreen one final chance. This time i will skip moisturiser and go with this alone. Let me see how that goes. I will update the results here.
FINAL UPDATE ON 20/03/2022😇
I changed my morning skincare routine and gave the minimalist sunscreen another Guess what? There was no breakouts or irritation this time. It has been a week since then. I am super happy right now. But, a weird thing that happened was that the sunscreen pilled this time around. Not much but it certainly did pill.
REAPPLICATION?
Reapplication is not at all an issue on normal healthy skin. It works really well i would say BUT,
If you are using Retinol/Chemical peels(AHA/BHA), you may end up with the same experience as mine.
The product feels heavy on reapplication and the peeling areas feel tight or numb or stretchy, even more so when i sweat. I checked in the mirror but, there wasn’t any pilling and also, it did not accentuate the peeling areas either.
It just feels uncomfortable on the sensitive areas of my face that i had to wash it off completely and reapply. I think once my skin heals, it may work differently. (Will update this again later)
UPDATE ON 20/03/2022
My skin has gotten used to chemical peels now and it does not feel as sore or sensitive as before. So, the sunscreen feels different in a good way and really comfortable on my skin these days. There isn’t any burning sensation or stretchiness that i mentioned earlier. Overall my skin seems happy and calm.
DOES IT PILL?
Most negative reviews i read did say that the sunscreen pills BUT, i did not notice any pilling/ball up at all.🤔
Also, I am using Physiogel AI moisturiser(Review Here) under it.
It did pill a little bit when i used the sunscreen alone and skipped the moisturiser all together.
