In my review of UV Doux Silicone Sunscreen Gel SPF 50, I found that it contains both chemical and physical filters, providing comprehensive protection against sun damage. The sunscreen covers wavelengths of about 280-400 nm, which includes both UVB and UVA ranges. Although I’ve been using mineral sunscreens for quite some time, the good ones are often too costly for my budget. 🙁
✅ What’s particularly noteworthy about the UV Doux Sunscreen is that, it uses UV filters such as Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, and Bemotrizinol that do not get absorbed into the skin. This sunscreen is free from harmful UV filters like Avobenzone, Mexoryl SX, Octinoxate, Oxybenzone, and PABA, which means they do not disrupt the hormone system or cause any negative long-term effects.
⛔ Skip the UV Doux SPF 30 lotion, it contains the above mentioned Not-So-Good UV filters.
Brinton Uv Doux Sunscreen Gel with SPF 50 PA+++ is a dermatologically tested and clinically proven formula that contains physical UV blockers (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) and chemical UV blockers (bemotrizinol).

Skin Type – Normal Sensitive
Let us now get on with the Uv Doux Sunscreen gel review. Uv Doux Sunscreen gel provides complete protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun. This is because of the perfect combination of chemical and physical UV blockers.
PACKAGING- The sunscreen comes in a tube packaging which is certainly convenient. It also has a nozzle so there won’t be any product wastage.
TEXTURE – With its amazing texture which is kind of silky/velvety, this sunscreen gel is exceptionally light on the skin.
CONSISTENCY, WHITE CAST & FINISH
Despite its thick appearance, the gel texture spreads smoothly and is quickly absorbed within seconds, akin to Re’equil mattifying sunscreen (which was reviewed previously). Moreover, there is no white cast whatsoever, which is excellent. The finish is entirely matte and velvety, and it remains non-sticky and non-greasy throughout the day. Additionally, reapplication after four hours is a breeze, with no discomfort or issues.
There are 2 main problems that I faced with this sunscreen. It is probably related to my sensitive skin though. I am noting it down since it may be of help to some of you with the same skin type as mine.
⛔ STINGS MY EYES
While this sunscreen did not cause my eyes to water, it still left me feeling uncomfortable. As a result, I no longer apply it to my eyelids. Perhaps my sensitive skin reacted to the fragrance, preservatives, or even the zinc content.
Update as of 04/12/21 – The second tube no longer irritates my eyes, and the texture is lighter and airier than before, which is great news. 🙂 Although there have been no changes to the ingredient list, it appears that they have improved the quality.
⛔ REDNESS AND ITCHING
Whenever I use this sunscreen with actives like niacinamide or alpha-arbutin, my sensitive skin feels tingly and itchy. I can see some redness in the area too. All these fades away in 15-20 minutes though. It’s very puzzling because I had no issues with the first tube, and I’m unsure what is causing this reaction. If you have sensitive skin like me, I recommend performing a patch test while applying this sunscreen over actives.

Not consistent in texture and finish. Second purchase had an improved texture and finish. This is a good thing, right?

- May not suit sensitive skin beauties
DO I RECOMMEND THIS SUNSCREEN?
Yes, It is suitable for oily/combination/normal skin. It is one of the best sunscreens I have used in terms of texture and finish. No oiliness or white cast at all. This may not suit people with sensitive skin though. 🙁
Regrettably, this sunscreen is not suitable for me. It contains Octinoxate and fragrance, which are not good for my sensitive skin over the long term. Additionally, when used with an active serum, it caused redness and itching on my sensitive skin, which is certainly not a good sign.
RATING – 3.5/5
