Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel Review

INGREDIENTS

Benton aloe propolis gel has an impressive ingredient list. Let us discuss what each ingredient does to your skin so that you get a better understanding on how amazing they are.

GLYCERINE – A wonderful skin identical ingredient just like hyaluronic acid, it helps pull water molecules to the surface of the skin and thus hydrates our skin. Glycerine plays an important role in keeping our skin’s outer layer healthy and also helps in preventing skin irritations.

ALOE VERA – Aloe vera has been used for centauries for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, wound healing and soothing properties. It also has antioxidants like vitamin A, C, E, Riboflavin, folic acid and choline which help neutralise free radical damage and oxidative stress. This helps prevent the signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles. Salicylic acid present in aloe vera gel is beneficial for those struggling with acne and excess sebum.

PROPOLIS – Propolis being antibacterial and anti-inflammatory helps treat and prevent new acne formation. Studies show that not only does propolis have moisturising properties, it also helps soothe skin irritations like redness/itching, protect the skin barrier and speed up wound healing. The antioxidants in it help neutralise free radical damage and effectively prevents premature signs of ageing.

BETAINE – A humectant derived from sugar beets, betaine helps pull moisture from its surroundings to the surface of the skin increasing its hydration levels leaving it soft, supple and plump. Betaine can be used post treatments and procedures because of its moisturising, soothing and healing properties. It is also known to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

ARGININE – Another ingredient used in skincare products to increase your skin’s hydration levels and boost collagen synthesis which in turn helps keep your skin plump and youthful. Again, like propolis, arginine does prevent fine lines and wrinkles by protecting your skin from free radical damage and oxidative stress.

JAPANESE PEPPER FRUIT EXTRACT

This has antioxidant and antibacterial properties and like lichen extract is used as a natural preservative in cosmetics.

CUCUMBER FRUIT EXTRACT – A superhero ingredient with numerous skincare benefits, cucumber fruit extract has phytochemicals, antioxidants and minerals which help hydrate and cool the skin, tighten and reduce pores, and soothe inflamed skin. Cucumber is a natural astringent with anti-inflammatory properties which makes it ideal for acne prone, oily skin. It also helps cleanse and revitalise tired skin.

PURSLANE EXTRACT – Rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants like vitamin A, C and E, purslane prevents the signs of ageing and protects the skin by fighting off free radicals. With a pH similar to your skin, purslane helps moisturise deeply and soothe the skin irritations.

ALLANTOIN – Known for its moisturising, wound healing and soothing properties, allantoin is another top skincare ingredient when it comes to antiaging skincare. It does exfoliate dead skin cells, smoothen skin texture and fade acne scars. Allantoin does boost collagen production and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

LICHEN EXTRACT – An organic deodorant and preservative, lichen extract has antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties which helps keep your skin clear and healthy.

GREEN TEA LEAF EXTRACT – A known superfood for the skin, green tea is rich in polyphenols which is why it exhibits anti-cancer and antiaging benefits. Polyphenols also play an important role in blocking certain enzymes that accelerate ageing by depleting collagen and hyaluronic acid. It does promote vitamin C production and this process promotes collagen synthesis. Not only do they provide protection against UV rays of the sun and reduce inflammation, polyphenols also help increase blood circulation which helps bring oxygen and nutrients to the surface of the skin. Use of green tea extract reduces pore size and sebum production and hence is beneficial for oily, acne prone skin.

MY EXPERIENCE

Skin Type – Normal sensitive but prone to dryness in winter

Benton aloe propolis soothing gel is non oily, non-sticky and also free from artificial fragrance which makes it suitable for all skin types. It is a light weight transparent gel with a smooth watery consistency. It spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly without leaving a sticky layer behind.

Benton aloe propolis soothing gel helps hydrate and soothe my sensitive skin. It does help relieve itching, burning sensation and redness. I keep this in the refrigerator which makes it feel extra soothing on my skin. This along with the Cosrx snail mucin essence greatly helped repair my skin barrier and calm down any inflammation and redness that I had. To be honest, my skin had never been better. It is certainly not perfect but I am slowly getting there.

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel Review

Dry skin beauties can use this gel with another layer of deep moisturiser(occlusive) on top to lock the moisture in. You could also mix a couple of drops of your favourite oil with this and apply to ensure proper moisturisation and take care of any dry patches. When it comes to normal-oily skin, the aloe vera gel by itself might be sufficient in moisturising your skin for the whole day.

I used the aloe vera gel twice daily and the tube still lasted 3 months. I also loved making face masks with this. These face masks did help freshen, soothe and brighten my skin after a long tiring day.

If you have acne prone skin, sensitive skin or if you are using actives like AHA, BHA, retinol, I would love to recommend Benton aloe vera propolis gel product as it helps prevent irritations and soothe the skin until your skin gets used to these strong ingredients. In short, this gel does everything it claims to do. In this Benton aloe propolis soothing gel review, all that is left is to summarize everything so let’s do that.

ALOE VERA GEL AS LEAVE IN CONDITIONER

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel Review

Yes, aloe vera gel can be used as a leave-in hair conditioner. Aloe vera gel has moisturizing properties and can help to hydrate and soften the hair. It can also provide a cooling sensation to the scalp and help soothe any irritation. To use aloe vera gel as a leave-in conditioner, you can apply a small amount to your palms, rub them together, and then distribute the gel evenly throughout your damp or dry hair, focusing on the lengths and ends. It’s best to start with a small amount and add more as needed to avoid making your hair greasy. Experiment with the amount that works best for your hair type and texture.

In addition to using aloe vera gel as a leave-in hair conditioner, I have also incorporated it into my DIY rosemary hair spray. I’ve discovered a fantastic hair care routine that involves using rosemary tea, either with dried or fresh rosemary steeped in hot water until it infuses. To enhance its benefits, I mix the rosemary tea with a few drops of essential oil, vitamin E, and argan oil. To ensure proper blending, I add a small amount of Benton aloe vera gel as an emulsifier. I transfer this nourishing blend into a spray bottle and apply it to my hair between washes. This homemade blend not only promotes hair growth but also imparts a pleasant fragrance while leaving my hair soft, smooth, and tangle-free.
