Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Airy Sun Stick Review – Today, I will be talking about the Isntree sunscreen stick, a product that could be a game changer for those of us who struggle with reapplying sunscreen regularly. I often find it inconvenient to reapply sunscreen during the day, especially because my sensitive skin tends to get red and warm with each application. That is why this sun stick caught my attention.
I find the concept of sun sticks to be incredibly practical and time saving, making them the perfect solution for on the go touch-ups.
I also like to start my day off with either the Isntree watery sun gel or the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, You can never be too careful with UV protection. What’s great is that both of these choices are gentle on my skin and offer hydration without leaving a white cast.
ARE SUNSCREEN STICKS EFFECTIVE?
Sunscreen sticks when applied correctly gives you the exact same sun protection as that of a cream or gel sunscreen. Swipe the sun stick 3 times to get complete sun protection and swipe once when reapplying.
DOES SUNSCREEN STICKS CAUSE ACNE?
Well, like any other sunscreens in the market, This certainly depends on the ingredients in it. Sunscreens sticks are preferable for acne prone skin since they are super light weight and in most cases do not cause or aggravate existing acne.
HOW DO YOU CLEAN A SUN STICK?
After swiping the sun stick, wipe it with a tissue to keep it clean to prevent any kind of microbial growth and thus, breakouts.
HOW DO YOU USE ISNTREE SUN STICKS?
If you are relying solely on this for sun protection, swipe 3 times to cover the area and swipe just once on reapplication.
Apply 30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2-3 hours.
IS ISNTREE SUNSCREEN WATERPROOF?
Unfortunately, no. As of now, Isntree has yet to come out with their water resistant range of sunscreens.
IS ISNTREE SUN STICK GOOD FOR OILY SKIN?
The stick sunscreen is suitable for all skin types. I have yet to read a negative review about this one But, do note that this sunscreen contains OMC, Homosalate and fungal acne triggers like Olive fruit oil.

BREAKOUTS | SKIN IRRITATION
Even though the Isntree sunscreen stick contains OMC (Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate) as one of its UV filters, I did not experience any itching or burning sensation while using it. The brand claims the product is hypoallergenic, so it is worth a try if you are not allergic to OMC. I did not get any breakouts after using it, but it is not fungal acne safe, so remember to double cleanse your skin before bedtime.
MY EXPERIENCE
Skin Type – Normal Sensitive
When I first came across the Isntree sunscreen stick, I have to admit, my expectations were not very high. But as I started using it, I was pleasantly surprised by the convenience it offers when reapplying sunscreen. The stick format of this product makes reapplication quicker. But I stick to using a cream or gel based sunscreen as my primary sunscreen.
The stick has a compact, tear shaped design which makes it easier to cover all areas of the face, even the hard to reach spots. When I applied it by gliding the stick across my face three times, it went on smoothly and did not leave any greasy residue. It is so lightweight that you hardly feel it on your skin, letting the skin breathe comfortably.
This sunscreen stick provides sun protection with added soothing, brightening, and anti-aging benefits. It has a velvety matte finish, which is excellent, But during the third reapplication, it does appear a bit powdery on my skin.
PROBLEMS?
Isntree sunscreen contains Homosalate which affects the hormone system(endocrine disruptor) and OMC, another controversial ingredient.
When reapplying the sunscreen stick, it moves my makeup ever so slightly.
After the 3rd reapplication, my skin feels a little bit tight and dry, I could also see the peeling areas from retinol which is otherwise not noticeable.
