Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen Review

Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen Review – Mineral sunscreens do not contain the controversial ingredients that disrupt our endocrine system like Homosalate, Avobenzone, OMC and Benzephenone-3 or cause skin allergies. They are usually well tolerated by all skin types especially sensitive, acne prone skin types. Mineral sunscreens also do not damage the coral reefs and are quite environmental friendly too.

I have been searching for a good mineral sunscreen for a long time. In the end, it came down to Benton mineral sunscreen and this one. Well, Axis-y had a good offer going on so I decided to go with this sunscreen.

Here is my honest review on one such sunscreen all the way from Korea, The Axis-Y mineral sunscreen.

Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen Review

WHY USE AXIS-Y SUNSCREEN

Our sunscreen uses reef safe ingredients (only physical active ingredients) that leave minimal to no white cast, stickiness, or pilling for no stress to our mornings and the environment. A fifth of the world’s coral reefs have died since 2015 and we are at risk of losing another 40% in the next 30 years.

Sunscreens that contain the active ingredients oxybenzone and octinoxate contribute to mass bleaching of coral reefs, leading to some countries banning the use of these sunscreens to protect the oceanic habitat. As a climate inspired brand, we felt it was necessary to create a sunscreen we can rely on to give us total protection without harming the environment

IS AXIS-Y SUNSCREEN GOOD FOR OILY SKIN?

This sunscreen is best suited for oily, acne prone and sensitive skin.

IS AXIS-Y SUNSCREEN NON COMEDOGENIC?

Yes, Axis-y sunscreen does not clog pores and neither does it harm the environment. Find the ingredient analysis below.

AXIS-Y SUNSCREEN REVIEW

Skin Type – Normal sensitive skin

FRAGRANCE – This sunscreen is fragrance free and my sensitive skin was completely fine with it, no tingling, itching or burning sensation. This sunscreen has a mild non irritating natural scent to it which I could work with. It smells like minerals, like the smell in the air after the first rain.

CONSISTENCY – Axis-y sunscreen is a light weight sunscreen with a consistency that is neither too thick nor thin. It does spread easily but, when I blend, I can feel that it has a chalky or powdery feel to it. This sunscreen does not make my skin sticky or uncomfortable and does not irritate my skin either.

Like most mineral sunscreens, Axis y also needs a couple of minutes to blend in completely. Initially there is a mild white cast which fades away in about 15 minutes I would say.

FINISH – Once blended, the sunscreen settles to a non greasy dewy finish. A little too dewy just like the Beauty Of Joseon sunscreen but, it is oily or uncomfortable but Yes, you need a compact or blotting paper to tone it down to a glow-y look.

WHITE CAST – On my Indian skin tone, Axis-y sunscreen leaves a mild white cast upon application which does fade away in about 20 minutes and blends really well with my skin tone. (See below pics) Well, If you are darker than Beyonce then, this might leave a white cast on you.

15-20 MINUTES LATER

PERFORMANCE – Although with much blending, the sunscreen does settle to a little to no-white cast, it just off just as fast when I sweat. You can literally see white patches on my face like thick cakey makeup like white-washed clown face. This happened when I was attending my mom’s family & friends get together and everyone was starring at me.😭😭😭 I did not notice anything until my husband pointed it out.

DRY SKIN –  Those with dry skin need to apply a good moisturiser underneath else the mattifying effect will accentuate your dry patches and make it look worse.  Also, this sunscreen has Niacinamide present in it so if your skin does not tolerate this active, this sunscreen is not for you.

WINTER – I would not recommend this sunscreen for the cold climates as it did leave my skin really dry and despite using a deep moisturiser and Vaseline, the peeling from retinol was disturbingly visible. My husband was horrified by this and asked if all of this was worth it. Yes, of course it is my Dear.

This season, I am using the Purito Daily Go-To Sunscreen which is quite hydrating and perfect for the winter season.
