Dark circles are one of the most difficult to treat beauty concern to many of us. Today, i am going to tell you all about my favourite treatment for tired and puffy panda eyes. You have to be consistent in using this recipe until your dark circles reduces or vanishes permanently. Unfortunately, this all natural eye mask will not reduce dark circles that are hereditary.
The first thing to do is to carefully and consciously change your lifestyle habits.
Sleep well before midnight and for 7-8 hours.
Do not fail to hydrate your body with 12 glasses of water everyday to flush out toxins.
None of the creams, eye masks or treatments can replace adequate sleep and hydration. So make sure to get your beauty sleep.
Tea Bag Under Eyes
You can use black tea or green tea bag for your eyes. Both contain vitamins, antioxidants and tanins that help with various under eye concerns.
I had previous shown you guys How I Used Green Tea Bag To Get Rid Of My Eye Stye/Pimple On MY Eye before. Placing tea bags on my eyes really did a great job in alleviating the pain and comforting the eye area generally. In that case, i did use warm eye bags because, it seemed to be most helpful in reducing the pain, redness and swelling.
For treating dark circles and puffiness, it is better to use cold tea bags rather than warm tea bags.
Cucumber For Eyes
Cucumber, being filled with water has been used for hydrating and calming the skin since a long time ago. They contain vitamins and antioxidants that helps moisturise the under eye area and get rid of tired puffy eyes within a few times of usage.
The vitamin c and vitamin K present in cucumbers may help reduce dark circles and any discolouration in the under eye area. But, as this is a natural treatment it may take some time to start noticing improvements. It could take anywhere between 30-45 days to see visible changes in your dark circles.
Fenugreek For Eyes
Another potent ingredient that is rich in vitamin C, K, A and vitamin B-6. It also works in hydrating and lightening the skin. I did post about my favourite Fenugreek seeds Face Mask that helps treat acne, soothe redness and irritated skin earlier.
Believe it or not, it actually works exceptionally well. Combined with the Oats,Cucumber Face Mask, my skin healed and regained its glow.
I use fenugreek mask on my hair as well. My grandma taught me this recipe. She uses fenugreek hair mask and oil bath during the summers to cool down the body and also my hot head. During my childhood days, I used to catch a cold whenever i use this. I do not have that problem now though.
How To Remove Dark Circles Naturally?
What You Need:
Green Tea – 1 tablespoon or 2 tea bags
Cucumber – 1 (Juice – 200 ml)
Fenugreek Powder – 1 tablespoon
Makeup remover pads – 2 OR 2 Used Tea bags
You can also add lemon juice to this if your skin tolerates it. As my sensitive skin does not, i have simply skipped it.
Whenever i make this eye mask serum for my husband, i do add lemon juice to it. Do not let it get into your eyes as it stings like hell.
If you made extra, freeze and store as ice cubes. This can be used for months.
Cucumber And Tea Eye Mask Recipe
Grate the cucumber and squeeze out the juice as much as possible.
Add one tablespoon of green tea leaves to it. You may substitute green tea leaves with black tea leaves.
Finally add one tablespoon of fenugreek powder to it.
Watery Or Slimy Serum?
You can opt for whole seeds for this recipe. Then the eye serum will be watery.
If you use fenugreek powder, the serum will be slimy. I always use the powder form as you can see in the video.
Add Lemon juice of half a lemon.
Keep this mixture in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours to rest.
Let all the nutrients in these ingredients seep into the juice.
12 hours later, you can dip your makeup remover pads or 2 used tea bags in this. Squeeze the excess liquid out.
Sit or lie comfortable and keep this mask over your eyes.
Below is my husband relaxing with this eye mask, Day 1. Honestly he is my guinea pig. 🙂 🙂 I will update his progress after 3-6 months. I hope it works on his dark circles too.
It is much more darker than mine so i think it will take that long to get rid of it. (Given that he gets his much needed beauty sleep)
How Often And How Long?
Use this twice a day for 20 minutes.
Allow me to be brutally honest here. This eye mask works but, it does not treat dark circles overnight or in 2 days. I do not want to give false hope to anybody.
Consistent usage does help brighten the under eye area and make it look healthy rather than hollow.
