Description

This nutrient-rich lotion is blended with pure sandalwood, saffron, wheat germ, honey and bark of the arjun tree to keep skin soft, fair and moisturised. Protects skin with broad spectrum SPF 50 UVA/UVB sunscreen. Very water resistant, retains SPF after 80 minutes in the water.

My Experience

I certainly have mixed feelings regarding biotique’s all natural sunscreen. Spf 50 is really an exaggerated number in my opinion.

I have used two bottles of this Biotique sunscreen. But, i have only used this sunscreen once on my face. It gives off an oily look and attracts all the dust to your skin. I had a gut feeling that i would end up with ‘Milia’ (Small white hard bumps) just like every other time i use an oil based product. 🙁 hence i avoided using this sunscreen on my facial skin.

You may use a little bit of product and follow up with compact powder. Then again, using less than the recommended amount of sunscreen does not help in protecting our skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

Biotique bio sandalwood sunscreen is a good long lasting moisturiser but as a sunscreen, it is not that great. I did get tanned even after using this. From the ingredients itself, it is difficult to pin point which of those provide sun protection of Spf 50. However it does make my skin soft and supple.

Biotique Bio Sandalwood Ultra Soothing Face Lotion has a thin lotion like consistency and it does get absorbed easily. The result is slightly oily and hence this lotion is most suited for dry skin people. It does not give a white cast. It did not cause breakouts either. But i actually did not use it long enough on my face as it felt heavy and uncomfortable.

Biotique bio sandalwood sunscreen is not water resistant as it claims and hence is not suitable for hot summers. It will get wiped off easily. It also makes me sweat around the nose and mouth area. 🙁

Results

This makes my face dull and oily although i have normal skin. It feels heavy when i use the recommended amount as a sunscreen. Biotique Bio Sandalwood Ultra Soothing Face Lotion works well as a moisturiser as it hydrates my skin all throughout the day during winter season.

As a face and body sunscreen, Biotique sunscreen does not prevent tanning. My hands got tanned after using this. 🙁 I like it as a body lotion

Note that there is only one ‘+’ in the spf 50. That means it does not protect against all UVA and UVB rays of the sun. Always go for a broad spectrum sunscreen that ensures complete protection against UV rays.

Nope, This does not do its job as a sunscreen. As a person who gets tanned easily, i would not recommend relying on this for sun protection. I like this as a body lotion for the winter with its soothing sandalwood fragrance.
