My Experience

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50 PA+++ Ultra Matte Lotion is not a lotion at all. It comes as a thick cream which id difficult to blend especially if you have sensitive skin like me. This sunscreen needs time to be fully absorbed and it leaves a white cast behind.

The white cast however may be the main issue for darker skin tones. When i sponge blend the sunscreen, i feel that there is less white cast and it is easier than tugging and pulling my sensitive skin. This sunscreen is slightly heavy on my skin but it did not melt or make me sweat profusely. There was a brightening effect too which i liked.

Below is the blended pic. I have not applied this sunscreen on my fingers and hence you can see the difference clearly.

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50 PA+++ Ultra Matte Lotion

This lakme matte sunscreen may suit only those of medium skin tone to fair skin tones. Although it contains lactic acid, this product did not irritate my skin nor did it cause any breakouts. Lactic acid does help exfoliate the skin gently while locking moisture in.

In addtion to cucumber juice, it also contains glycerin and propyl glycol all of which helps hydrate the skin. But i did not feel any moisturising effect from this sunscreen.

Coming to the spf factor,  Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50 PA+++ Ultra Matte Lotion does protect the skin for 4 hours after which you need to reapply.  This broad spectrum sunscreen does protect against both UVA and UVB rays of the sun. It does prevent sun tan and premature signs of ageing.

I do not have any complaints apart from the consistency being so thick which makes it difficult to blend. There is no greasy or oiliness on my skin after using this. It does not make your skin dull and dark unlike many other counterparts.

Pros

  • Broad spectrum sunscreen
  • Brightened my skin over time
  • Good spf protection
  • Does not melt
  • Prevents tanning
  • Does not cause dull skin
  • Budget friendly
  • No greasy look
  • Travel friendly
  • No stickiness
  • Does not cause irritation or breakouts
  • Best suited for oily skin
  • Can be layered with makeup
  • No melting
  • Water resistant

Cons

  • Lactic acid may cause irritation in sensitive skin
  • Leaves a white cast
  • May not suit deeper skin tones
  • Difficult to reapply
  • Accentuates dry patches
  • Difficult to blend

Will I Recommend This?

Yes. I liked it despite the difficulty to blend as it did protect my skin and made it brighter.
