- Rice flour/Besan – 1 tablespoon
You may substitute curry leaves with neem or mint leaves. Although curry leaves, neem and mint leaves do not have an affect on hyper pigmentation, they are anti microbial and hence help clear our skin.
You may also add one tablespoon of lemon juice and a pinch of wild turmeric powder to it. As i have sensitive skin, i refrained from adding these ingredients despite its amazing benefits. 🙁
Crush the leaves and mix it with the remaining ingredients to make a smooth consistency. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse off. Use three times a week for best results. Follow up with a good moisturiser and sunscreen to protect your skin.
For this recipe, You may choose either rice flour or gram flour depending on your skin type. Both of these flours help thicken the face pack and ensures easy application. In short, It will not be a dripping mess. Apart from this, they have additional skin care benefits which i have mentioned below.
Rice flour acts as a scrub but it may be little bit harsh on sensitive skin. So always wash the face pack before it dries completely. Rice flour is perfect as a body scrub rather than the face.
Curd helps moisturise the skin while also acting as a chemical exfoliant. You may read more on curd face packs and benefits in this post.
Lemon juice does lighten the skin but it may lead to increased sensitivity to the UV rays of the sun. To protect the skin, Use a sunscreen to prevent skin darkening.
