Scalp – Normal Skin
I had flaky powdery scalp, itching, hair fall from both my head and eye brows, and tiny rashes on my fore head. 🙁
Although i do not have an oily scalp, I do get troubled with dandruff at times. I usually have to use a simple cleansing shampoo every other day since working out and sweating makes my scalp too dirty, sticky and stinky. However, this does cause scalp itching and dandruff for me.
When i apply warm oil to my scalp, the itchy becomes too much to keep my hands off the scalp. I keep scratching my head. I started using this Scalpe anti dandruff shampoo since my dermatologist prescribed it around 15 years ago.
I consulted a doctor because i did not have time to try home remedies. Maybe neem packs, lemon and sour curd may have worked but alas, i did not have the patience nor the knowledge about home remedies 15 years ago.
Does It Work?
In sort, Yes it does.
You have to massage it for at least 3 minutes which is really important. You have to give it time to work rather than rinsing it off as soon as it lathers.
It does take out oil, dirt and impurities but i would not suggest using this after an oil massage.
Using an anti dandruff shampoo may cause the scalp to become dry and itchy. So try to moisturise the scalp by apply a simple hair pack once a week or apply oil and leave it for at least an hour before shampooing.
Oils like coconut oil, sesame oil, olive oil or almond oil with a few drops of castor oil and tea tree oil would be perfect.
You may also rinse your hair with Aloe Vera and apple cider vinegar mixture like i am doing too. This mixture helps condition your hair and close the hair follicles. It also helps moisturise the scalp and prevent minor scalp infections too.
Moisturising & Conditioning Hair Rinse
- Water – 1 cup
- Apple cider vinegar – 2 Tablespoon
- Aloe Vera – 2 Tablespoon
Once you have been cured of dandruff, use this scalpe anti dandruff shampoo once every week and then change to once every two weeks to prevent recurrence of dandruff.
As i get too many requests all the time, I have already mentioned the other anti dandruff medicated shampoos in an earlier post. They are all good. In case you missed it, you can read it now.
Hope my experience will help somebody out there.
If you have any questions, please drop a comment and i would be happy to help.
Have A wonderful Weekend. 🙂
