My Experience
Scalp – Normal Skin
I had flaky powdery scalp, itching, hair fall from both my head and eye brows, and tiny rashes on my fore head. 🙁
Scalpe Plus does soothe itching in a single use. I do not mean its gone completely but just reduced by 90%. This is such a big deal for me as uncontrollable itching was the main problem for me.
Yes, there was hair fall but, the itching bothered me the most. Scratching my head all the time is super embarrassing.
Also, scratching the scalp causes inflammation and related hair fall too. 🙁
Scalpe plus will get rid of dandruff completely in a month’s time. After that, use the shampoo for maintenance only as i already mentioned before.
MOISTURISE THE SCALP
Moisturise the scalp by applying a simple hair pack(Curd/Aloe Vera/Flaxseed gel) once a week. Any simple hair mask will do as long as it moisturises the scalp.
Using an anti dandruff shampoo may cause the scalp to become itchy due to over dryness. This is to prevent that.
You may also rinse your hair with Aloe Vera and apple cider vinegar mixture like i do.
This mixture helps close the hair cuticles and hence, the hair appears shiny and silky. It also helps moisturise the scalp and prevent minor scalp infections too.

UPDATE
I do not have dandruff or itching now.
These days, I use homemade shikakai shampoo every other day along with fermented rice water or Yao rice water. I have posted the recipes on the blog.
Rice water helped promote new growth and stopped my hair fall. You can see the results in the YAO rice water video
Does this shampoo cause more hairfall? I have dandruff problem and my doctor prescribed this shampoo. And I’m a little skeptical Because I have been using Shikakai from a long time and generally if we change products, it aggreviates hairfall and I am already facing severe hairfall issues. And also do we end up getting pimples or something after we use this? Hope this does not have any side effects.
This shampoo does not cause hair fall or acne problems but, long term use may leave your hair dry so make sure to apply a hair mask/warm oil on your hair and scalp once a week to prevent that.
I am suffering from heavy hairfall and itching problem but there is no dandruff in my scalp. So may I use this shampoo?? Will it work?
Hello Rubi, This shampoo does reduce scalp itching caused by fungal infection. Cipla 8x shampoo is also good to soothe an itchy scalp and treat hair fall.
If your symptoms don’t reduce within a few weeks, talk to your dermatologist about the underlying cause of itchy scalp and how best to treat it.
Is there any complications or side-effects….with this shampoo
Hello Abhigna, Sorry for the delay in responding to comments. I didn’t personally experience any side effects other than dryness while using the Scalp Plus shampoo. To avoid dryness, consider using a light moisturizing hair mask, such as aloe vera or flaxseed gel.
Plz give a tips to reduce oilyness of hair
Hi Priyabrata,
Do not over wash. Your scalp will produce more oil if you over wash.
Use gentle silicone and sulphate free shampoo.
Include probiotics, veggies in your diet and avoid sugar.
Add a tablespoon of sea salt to your mild shampoo, mix well. This helps to detoxify your scalp and remove excess oil/product buildup.
Apply pure aloe vera gel hair mask to clean scalp, wait for 15 minutes and then rinse off. I mean, Use a hair mask once a week.
Use 3 minute apple cider vinegar rinse 2 times a week. Slightly acidic hair care helps control oil production.
Do you have dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis? If yes, please use an anti-dandruff shampoo or sulphur based shampoo to treat this.
If there is no difference after a month or if you have itchy scalp/hair fall/flaky scalp, Please consult a dermatologist.
Hope that helps.
Hi,at what stage did you stop using this. Can I stop with in 1 or 2 month.
Hi Karunya, Use the shampoo every 3 days until dandruff is gone and then, use it only once a week for the next 2 weeks or 3 weeks, after 3 weeks use the shampoo once every 15 days and finally, once a month only for maintenance.
Don’t stop using the shampoo just because you cannot see any dandruff, use it less frequently and slowly stop. This is to prevent dandruff from coming back.
I have dry scalp…..so can I apply coconut oil 1-2 hours prior using the shampoo??
Hi Megha, It is best not to use both the oil and anti-dandruff shampoo on the same day. Apply warm oil once a week on days you are not using the anti-dandruff shampoo. Hope that helps.
Will it help in treating seborrheic dermatitis
For mild cases of seborrheic dermatitis, Yes shampoo’s do help. But not all ingredients work for everybody. So if one ingredient doesn’t work, switch to another until you find the one that suits you best or Use 2 shampoos on alternate days.

For moderate to severe cases, it is best to consult a dermatologist for professional advise. Thanks for reading, Madhav.
While we use the shampoo once every 15 days and 1 month for maintenance can we use other shampoos also for remaining days
Hi Kavya, You can use your regular shampoo the other days. Something mild/hydrating would be best as antidandruff shampoos tend to dry out the scalp.
I have too much dandruff…which shampoo is best
Hello Sulekha, If you’re facing dandruff issues, you can try using zinc Cipla 8x shampoo, which was prescribed to my husband for the same problem. However, if you don’t see any improvement in dandruff after using it correctly for a month, it’s advisable to consult a dermatologist as it could be seborrheic dermatitis. To prevent the scalp from drying out, consider using a hair mask such as aloe vera or flaxseed seed gel at least once a week for moisturization, as anti-dandruff shampoos can have this effect.

My dermatologist recommended me to use this on my hair and affected facial areas, will it help? And after applying can I put sulphur ointment on it?
Hi Taesul, It might be helpful to use anti-dandruff shampoo on both your hair and the parts of your face with skin problems. I tried this after my dermatologist suggested it for fungal acne, and it worked well for me. But if you want to use sulfur ointment, it’s best to talk to your dermatologist first. They can give you the best advice based on what your skin needs.
Hi My name is Amish. I am currently 18 years old . I was having itchy scalp from past 2-3 months and due to which I used to scratch my head a lot which caused hairfall. I am very scared right now I have itchiness and white flakes and red bumps on my scalp. I am also having hairfall from eyebrows and also have pimples on eyebrows. Should I use it.as I can see you had similar problems.
Hi Amish, While an anti-dandruff shampoo can be effective in treating an itchy, flaky scalp and related hair fall, it may not provide the same relief for red bumps or boils. If you’re experiencing these issues, consulting a dermatologist is advisable. In my husband’s case, he faced similar issues with painful boils and received a prescription for Clindac A solution in addition to the shampoo.
