My Experience

Skin Type – Normal Sensitive

I was going to guy the gel variant from the ponds moisturiser range but, it was not available in the nearby hypermarket and finally i ended up getting this Ponds Light moisturiser.

Ponds light moisturiser is very creamy similar to ‘Nivea Cream’. It is easy to spread and blends pretty easily too. This moisturiser does not leave any residue behind.

Although it provides sun protection, there isn’t any white cast. Do not depend on this for complete sun protection as, SPF 15 is much less than the recommended value that is SPF 30+++. You have to use a separate sunscreen for your skin type over this for complete sun protection.

It does provide sufficient hydration for my skin in the summer season. You can layer it with other sunscreen or makeup products without any issues. It does not interfere with other products and cause a mess.

The finish is matte on my normal skin. It does not feel sticky or oily at all. You can apply it and forget all about it. This certainly is a light weight moisturiser even though it has a thick consistency.

ponds light moisturiser

On the negative side,

It contains lot of ingredients that are known to cause allergy( as i have mentioned under the ingredient analysis section). It may also cause acne as it does contains a highly comedogenic ingredient in it. Hence i will not suggest this for oily acne prone skin or sensitive skin.

This does cause redness and mild itching on my sensitive skin. So i had to wash it away. 🙁 It works fine as a body moisturiser though. I gave it to my husband but he was put off with the smell.

Even when he tried this moisturiser because of my nagging , he ended up with a headache. But on the plus side(If you can call this a plus considering he cannot use it anymore 🙂 ) it did not cause any irritations or breakouts on his skin.

As we both cannot use this on our face, I finished the ponds light moisturiser by using it as a body moisturiser. Thankfully, i only bought the smallest size to try. That is the end of ponds light moisturiser review. Now on to the main points.

Will I Recommend Pond’s Light Moisturiser?

This product has Vitamins, flower and fruits extracts to nourish moisturise, brighten and provide anti ageing benefits. BUT unfortunately, it contains an equal amount of questionable ingredients that irritates the skin, blocks pores and cause acne breakouts. It may or may not work for you.

Also, if you are the type of person who gets a headache because of certain fragrances then, this product may not be for you. I am just leaving it out there.

Complete no-no for Acne prone skin and Sensitive skin.

That concludes the ponds light moisturiser review. Hope it was helpful to you guys.

I Will be back with another review and DIY recipes soon
