Sunscreen has become an integral part of our beauty routine. Studies has prove that staying in the sun for 7 minutes is enough to cause skin damage. The key to preventing sun damage and tanning is protective clothing, use of sunscreen and avoiding the sun during peak hours .
The damage would be at its highest when you roam around between 10-4 pm. UV rays even affect your eyes and hair too. So make use of the sunglasses you have and if you are not covering your head with hat or scarf, then use a serum/hair spray with uv protectors on your hair.
Sunscreen should be applied to cleansed, toned and moisturised skin. Whichever sunscreen you are using, Make sure it is a broad spectrum one that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. It is advised to use 30++ spf or higher.
Usually gel type sunscreens and the sunscreens designed for sensitive/acne prone skin are not water proof or sweat proof. So we have to reapply every 2 to 4 hours or so.
Mineral sunscreen has ingredients like Zinc Oxide/Titanium oxide. They work by creating a barrier to protect the skin from UV rays. Most of the UV rays are reflected by these particles.
If you are allergic to sunscreen then it is best to stick to a hypo allergic mineral sunscreen and avoid using foundation and compact that has sunscreen in them.

Chemical sunscreen has ingredients like Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, homosalate, octinoxate. They work by reacting with the UV rays to neutralize them. Many sensitive skin beauties are allergic to these ingredients.
