INGREDIENT BENEFITS

Tranexamic Acid reduces the activity of melanocyte tyrosinase thereby treating melasma, UV-induced hyperpigmentation, and other post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

HPA (Hydroxyphenoxy Propionic Acid), which is proven to inhibit the production of the Melanin pigment better than ascorbyl glucoside, kojic acid, and arbutin.

It also has equivalent efficacy to hydroquinone without cytotoxicity.

The formula further contains 3% Mandelic Acid which gently exfoliates & further reduces post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (like acne scars)

This does contain Turmeric extracts too which may work as an antiseptic too. I am not sure as the brand does not elaborate on this. Anyways, it can’t be anything bad.

My Experience

Skin Type – Normal Sensitive

  • Patch Test Recommended.
  • Use the serum at night time only.
  • Do not skip your sunscreen

I did a patch test and started out by using this serum once a week to let my skin get used to it.

Although this serum contains Mandelic acid and Salicylic acid, it did not irritate my sensitive skin. My skin does feel a bit warm within the next couple of minutes but that’s about it.

The serum has a lighter consistency even though it has an oil base and it certainly does get absorbed easily.

Tranexamic Acid texture and consistency

The finish is slightly oily and not complete matte like, Alpha arbutin(Review Here) or Niacinamide serum(Review here) from the same brand. But, as we are off to bed after the night skin care, i do not think this would bother anyone.

Trust me, it is not uncomfortable at all.

You only need 2-3 drops for your face but, it you are focusing on the pigmentation patch alone, then this product would be enough for months.

RESULTS

Minimalist Tranexamic Acid swatch

The duration it takes to see results differs for everybody.

Be Consistent For 8 Weeks To See Visible Results.

For best results, you can use tranexamic acid with Vitamin C 10%.

This serum does brighten the skin a little bit in about 2 weeks. That’s about the first difference i noticed while using tranexamic acid serum.

Two months could be far too less to determine whether this product actually work on pigmentation as claimed. So, i will update again after 8-9 months of consistent usage.

DARK CIRCLES – I am using this on my husband’s dark circles. I will update the results later that is, if i see any changes.

Also, the tranexamic acid serum from Minimalist does contain many actives in it. As is the case, it may cause purging on acne prone skin. So, follow a proper skin care to assist the recovery process.

UPDATE on 04/01/2022

It has been 7 months now and i can confirm the results.

This product did not deliver results as expected. Seriously >:( I am so disappointed. My hard earned money. T_T

Chemist At Play‘s Tranexamic acid with Niacinamide serum is far better than this and shows faster results in less than a month. Even better results when used with Deconstruct exfoliating serum 3 times a week.

PROS

Good dark amber bottle packaging

Paraben and Fragrance free

No irritation or breakouts on my normal-sensitive skin

Exfoliates the skin with Salicylic acid and Mandelic acid

Affordable price range

CONS

  • Oily finish
  • Slightly sticky
  • Does not deliver results even with 7 months use.

Deeper pigmentation takes a long time to fade. I would say about 9 months. But, so is the case with all the other prescription strength creams.

Will I Recommend Minimalist Tranexamic Acid?

Nope. Save your money

Skip this one and go for other brands.

Rating – 1/5

You have now come to the conclusion of the Minimalist Tranexamic acid Review.

If you have read till here, Thanks for sticking with me and i would recommend the brand Deconstruct (Review Here). Totally recommend their products.

I certainly get the feel that the Minimalist product quality has dropped lately. I cannot see any results unlike before. Not sure why. 🙁

Next week, i will be back with another post.

Till then, Be Safe And Happy.

Have Doubts? Drop a comment below and i would be happy to help.

    • Hi Niharika, Sorry to hear that you’ve had the same experience as mine. But i’m not sure why though, all the other products i have tried from this brand are exceptionally good. Hoping Deconstruct will introduce one soon. Since you are a blogger too, Do you have any product you would recommend? I am using Goodal one right now.
