PRODUCT DETAILS

Lactic acid (AHA) is a mild and gentle exfoliant that works to exfoliate dead skin cells from the face gently to make the skin smooth and even the skin’s texture.

There is 1% Hyaluronic Acid as added humectant that will hydrate and brighten the skin, whereas 1.5% probiotic will retain the natural microbes of the skin and strengthen the skin barrier.

This unique combination of lactic acid, probiotics and hyaluronic acid, will help to boost cell turnover and remove dead skin cells without causing any irritation.

MY EXPERIENCE

Skin Type – Normal Sensitive

These are my thoughts on the Deconstruct beginner’s exfoliating serum.

Since i have sensitive skin, i did a patch test and waited for 48 hours to confirm any negative reactions. Luckily, there was none.

In the beginning, I used to this serum twice a week and now after 1.5 months, i can use this for 3 times a week without any problems.

Never gonna use this 4 times a week though, That would be too much for my sensitive skin and i am sure i will end up with darker skin.

My skin was pretty much fine with this product as there was no warm/burning/tingling sensation on my sensitive skin.

As the serum is really gentle on the skin, it is perfect for beginners and those with sensitive skin.

Once your skin gets used to this, you can move on to a much higher concentration of AHA/BHA products like, Deconstruct Exfoliating Serum 18% AHA + 2% BHA or something similar.

RESULTS

Deconstruct exfoliating serum review

The first morning after i used the lactic acid serum for the very first time, i did notice that my skin looks brighter. This never happened to me with any of the products i have used before. Doing my happy dance. 8)

The pigmentation around the mouth has lightened a bit but has not faded completely. πŸ˜€ I am still alternating this with the Tranexamic acid serum(Review) from Minimalist.

I feel like the results are a bit faster than the Minimalist products like Tranexamic acid, alpha-arbutin. Niacinamide or Vitamin C serum.

Let me tell you, This product DOES NOT miraculously lighten your skin tone but instead, smoothens, brightens, and evens out your skin by a shade or even 2.

In my weird experience, Even using a mild oatmeal scrub(once a week) along with a chemical exfoliant darkens my skin. πŸ™

Too much exfoliation for my sensitive skin. πŸ˜₯ Again, this is subjective to every skin type.

Since it is counterproductive, I do not use physical exfoliants at all these days. Lets see how that goes in the long term.

Alright, let me summarize my experience now.

NO RESULTS?

Have you been using higher concentrations of AHA/BHA exfoliating serum?

Then, skip this one. Obviously because this serum is really mild when compared to what your skin is used to and hence, it may not have any effect on your skin.

This is a product for suited for beginners and sensitive skin.

Do Not Overuse

Even if you cannot see visible results, the peeling serum is doing its job even days after you have applied the serum.

Give it time to work like, 28 days before you decide its not for you.

Over use of chemical peels may lead to a broken skin barrier.
