Masoor Dal Face Pack | Face Wash Powder | Scrub Recipe – One of the easily available ingredient which has immense health as well as skin care benefits. Use as mentioned below to be safe and achieve best results.

BEWARE – Most imported lentils like Moong dal and Masoor dal contain the herbicide Glyphosate which is harmful to our internal organs and may also cause cancer. Such products should be avoided at all costs.

Although masoor dal powder is convenient to use, soaking it overnight or for at least a couple of hours is really worth the effort.

It is better to soak the lentils overnight to remove pesticides. If not, it may cause allergies and other skin problems.

If not, use Organic masoor dal that is free from harmful chemicals.

Just to be on the safe side, I recommend a patch test before applying these recipes on your whole face and body.

It is important to buy good quality organic ingredients for any homemade recipe to work.

I have not mentioned easily available ingredients like gram flour as you can probably buy them anywhere.

What’s In Masoor Dal?

Masoor dal is an excellent source of proteins and fibres.

Red lentils are rich in vitamin B(Niacin, Thiamine, Pyridoxine) and minerals like iron, zinc, potassium.

So, it is best to include lentils in your diet to achieve your daily dose of nutrients.

Masoor Dal Face Pack For Skin Whitening

  • Organic masoor dal powder – 1 Tablespoon
  • Liquorice powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Honey- 1 Teaspoon
  • Aloe Vera gel – As needed to make a smooth paste

Masoor dal naturally has bleaching properties which helps fade sun tan and acne scars to an extent.

Aloe vera gel and honey not only helps soothe any inflammation and prevent infections but also moisturises the skin.

How To Use

You can use this 3 times a week.

Leave it on as a thick mask and wash it off when it starts to feel tight and stretchy.

This face pack is suitable for all skin types although, dry skin may add a teaspoon of olive oil for adequate hydration.

Masoor Dal Face Pack For Pimples (Oily Skin)

  • Masoor dal  – 1 Tablespoon
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – A pinch
  • Honey – 1 teaspoon
  • Curd – 1 Teaspoon

Fenugreek seeds is an excellent skin cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser.

It helps get rid of acne scars and dark spots too. Fenugreek seeds have anti-inflammatory properties that helps soothe irritated skin.

The antioxidants in fenugreek seeds prevent cell damage and thus delay the signs of ageing. It leaves your skin soft and youthful.

Turmeric as you all may know is antioxidant rich and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Being an antiseptic, turmeric prevents skin infection and is beneficial in treating and preventing acne.

Honey, an anti-bacterial and antiseptic is another great ingredient with multiple skincare benefits. Honey is so soothing on the skin and does help brighten your skin and, add a glow.

The last ingredient is curd which again has anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants. The lactic acid present in curd gently exfoliates the skin cells revealing brighter and younger looking skin. It does moisturise the skin and keep wrinkles at bay.

How To Use

Soak masoor dal and fenugreek seeds overnight.

Wash and grind them to a fine paste.

Add turmeric powder, honey and curd to make a smooth paste.

Apply a thick layer and leave it on for 30 minutes.

Use this face mask 3 times a week for best results.

This masoor dal face pack is suitable for all skin types.

Masoor Dal Face Pack For Dark spots

  • Organic Masoor dal powder- 1 Tablespoon
  • Sandalwood powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Raw milk – Enough To make a paste

Sandalwood with its soothing fragrance works both as an antiseptic and astringent, it is helpful in preventing new acne and acne scars.

There is a reason sandalwood is considered a miracle ingredient. Sandalwood helps moisturise the skin, calm any inflammation, fight acne causing bacteria, brighten skin complexion and provides anti-ageing benefits too.

Raw milk, free from chemicals helps deep cleanse the skin and like curd, the lactic acid helps exfoliate dead skin cells and brighten your skin.

Milk does moisturise your skin and helps get rid of microbes that cause acne.

How To Use

Grind organic masoor dal to a fine powder.

Add sandalwood powder and milk to form a paste.

Apply on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes.

Repeat 2-3 times a week for best results.

Masoor Dal Face Wash Powder

Recipe makes around 200gms of face wash powder.

Masoor dal  – 5 Tablespoon
Besan – 10 Tablespoon
Almonds – 2 Tablespoon
Turmeric – 1/2 Tablespoon
Essential oil – 10 drops

Masoor dal face wash powder is super easy to make recipe that can be used by all skin types.

Grind masoor dal and almonds together to a fine powder. Next, add gram flour and turmeric powder to the mix.

Finally, add essential oils of your choice like tea tree oil, lavender oil or peppermint oil. The essential oils not only smells amazing, it is also beneficial for your skin.

Choose an essential oil depending on your needs. It can be anything from treating acne, brightening your skin tone, soothing inflammation or to keep lines and wrinkles away.

Mix everything together by hand or in the blender itself.

Store in an airtight container.

How To Use

Take two teaspoons of the masoor dal face wash powder and add rose water, milk or just plain water to make a paste.

Gently apply on your face and leave it on for 30 seconds to a minute.

Wash it off and follow up with a good toner and moisturiser that suits your skin.

You can use this everyday but, remember not to scrub the paste every single time. That’s a complete no-no.

Masoor Dal Body Scrub

  • Organic masoor dal – 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder – 1 Tablespoon
  • Curd – As needed

If this body scrub feels too mild on your skin, feel free to add coarse ground coffee powder powder/sea salt to it.

This scrub does leave your skin soft, smooth and moisturised. This body scrub helps lighten sun tan and brighten your overall skin tone.

How To Use

Mix the homemade scrub with curd and keep it ready.

Wet the area or take a bath to soften the skin. If you are using soap/gel, now is the time to use it.

Next, wash off the soap and apply the scrub on to your damp skin.

Massage gently to exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin cells.

Rinse off with lukewarm water.

For normal-oily skin, You can use the body scrub once a week and slowly increase to 2-3 times a week. For other skin types, use once a week only.

Masoor Dal Face Scrub

Ground Oats – 1 heaped Tablespoon
Masoor dal powder – 1 Tablespoon
Honey – 1 Teaspoon
Curd/Milk – 2 Tablespoons or as needed to make a paste

Benefits

Masoor dal face scrub helps gently slough of dead skin cells, remove excess oil and other impurities.

Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich oats helps cleanse, moisturise the skin and soothe any inflammation. It is highly beneficial for people struggling with dry skin conditions like Psoriasis and Eczema.

This masoor dal scrub recipe can be doubled to make a body scrub for those with dry, sensitive skin.

As i mentioned above, honey and curd does take away the dead skin cells but also moisturises and nourishes the skin deeply.

How To Use

Grind rolled oats and masoor dal to a fine powder.

Add a teaspoon of honey and curd. Mix everything together. Add more curd to form a thick paste.

Apply to your face and gently massage the area for not more than 30 seconds.

Rinse off with plain water.

Use 1-2 times a week.
