How To Remove Turmeric Stain From Skin?
To remove turmeric stain from face, wipe your face with a cotton ball or pad dipped in milk. Milk is a good cleanser that contains lactic acid in it. It does help take off the turmeric stains from your face and skin.
All recipes are tried and tested before recommending on PB.

How To Make Turmeric Powder?
I have tried the powders available in the market but they do not have the same strong smell or vibrant orange colour when compared to homemade powder.
You can buy 250 gram of wild turmeric (Kasturi turmeric) for about 30/-.
Wash it thoroughly to get rid of dirt and sand. In order to let it dry faster, chop it in to thin pieces like below.
I kept it in the sun in the morning and it was dried by evening. I could make this in a single day.
Grind it to a fine powder and store. It stays fresh for a really long time. Powdering 250 grams should be enough for making face packs for a year. It is worth the money spent.
Turmeric Face Pack For Glowing Skin
These ingredients are most beneficial for oily acne prone skin. So adjust the recipe as i have mentioned below if you have normal, dry or sensitive skin.
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey – 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice/Curd – 3 Tablespoon
- Oats/Besan – 1.5 teaspoon
- Fenugreek powder – 1 teaspoon (For oily skin)
Why Use fenugreek Seeds?
Vitamin C and K in fenugreek seeds help lighten acne scarring, redness and dark circles. It cleanses the skin, controls excess oil and pulls outs impurities from the pores.
You can find my Fenugreek Face Mask Recipe that know more on how it helps treat pimples and soothes the skin.
How To Use Turmeric face Pack?
It is better to use this face pack at night time as we are using lemon juice. Lemon juice may increase skin sensitivity to light so use a sunscreen to protect your skin.
Apply and leave it on for at least 20 minutes.
Use this face pack four times a week to repair, heal and lighten blemishes. Moisturise afterwards.
If you have oily skin, You can just use fenugreek powder and skip besan(gram flour) all together.
In simple words, Use Turmeric powder, honey, lemon juice and fenugreek powder for better results.
For extremely oily skin, follow the recipe without making any changes.
Use a gel moisturiser after rinsing the face mask off.
For normal skin, Use oats/rice flour, honey, turmeric, lemon juice and curd/milk. This is the most beneficial combination for you skin type.
For Dry skin and Mature skin, Use oats, Olive oil/coconut oil, honey, turmeric and milk. If you prefer, You may add lemon juice to lighten your skin too.
Mix everything together and leave it for 3 minutes before applying the face mask. The face pack will be slimy in texture.
If you have sensitive skin, skip lemon juice and opt for curd or milk instead.
I did apply the exact same recipe during one of my experiments. Once i washed the face mask off, my skin felt smooth and calm but little dry. I just applied a moisturiser and went to bed. After all, I do have a love-hate relationship with fenugreek powder. Mostly love. 🙂
It has so many benefits that i really want to use it but it doesn’t suit my skin unless i add extra virgin olive oil to the face mask. It pulls out whatever oil is left on my normal skin and tends to make it feeling stretchy/tight.
Don’t Have These Ingredients?
Just mix turmeric, lemon juice and honey. Apply this on alternate days until you get desired results.
Follow up with a good moisturiser and sunscreen to protect your skin and prevent skin darkening.
