Manjistha Face Pack Recipe For Skin Whitening

Manjistha

Manjistha Face Pack Recipe For Skin Whitening – Manjistha is a well known herb in Ayurveda which helps purify blood and thus, aids in detoxing our body.

The homemade recipes published on PB are Tried and Tested for at least two weeks before recommending here.

Does Manjistha Stain The Skin?

Turmeric and Manjistha are both highly beneficial to the skin BUT, Both of these leave a stain behind.

Do not worry as the stain is just temporary.

Majistha does support the healthy functioning of the Lymphatic system, which eliminates the toxins and other wastes from our body. This process is essential for a healthy body. The lymphatic system does play an important role in our body’s defence mechanism.

When a foreign particle enters our body, the white blood cells are carried through the lymphatic system which then attacks and eliminates the foreign threat. So, Manjistha also helps build our immunity.

manjistha

The herb Manjistha is both a heating and cooling herb which is certainly capable of removing and neutralizing toxins and boosting cell repair.

Manjistha has a reddish colour to it as you can see below. It does not have any distinctive fragrance to it.

Manjistha

I always buy herbs in their raw form(Raw Manjistha Roots), wash thoroughly and dry them before grinding them to a fine powder. This way i know what goes in to the recipes that i make and assure its quality.

My grinder jar broke so i used the blending jar to ground the raw manjistha and that explains why it is so coarsely ground.(PIC Below) This is the best i could do without the correct jar. I will grind it again once the jar is repaired.

You can buy finely ground manjistha powder online. It is easily available online and in Ayurveda stores.

How To Make Manjistha Detox Tea

Manjistha tea

Manjistha tea is highly beneficial for those with kapha dosha.

KAPHA DOSHA

Manjistha tea helps balance Kapha dosha which when not treated leads to various skin problems, digestive issues like constipation, weight gain, low immunity, concentration problems and sore breast during periods.

DRINK HALF AN HOUR AFTER FOOD

Here is the recipe,

  • Manjistha – 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon
  • Hot water – 1 Glass
  • Honey to taste
  • Lemon juice – 1 Teaspoon
  • Mint Leaves – 5 (Optional)

Take this tea after having a meal, whether it is lunch or dinner, either is fine.

This tea can be applied to your face as a toner. It helps calm and soothe your skin. Consistent use helps lighten scars and brighten your skin.

There are two method to prepare Majistha blood purifier tea.

I follow the infusion method which i have mentioned below BUT, you can go for either one as both recipes work.

DECOCTION METHOD

Add the powder to one and a half glass of water.

Once it boils, reduce the flame and let it boil for 10 minutes. Switch off the flame.

Once the tea is warm, filter the tea and you can drink it.

INFUSION METHOD

Take one glass of hot water in a cup.

Add 1/4-1/2 tsp of Manjistha powder to it.

Close the lid and leave it for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, filter the tea, then add honey and lemon juice. Now it is ready to drink.

With regular use of Manjistha, I could see changes in 7 days. My husband said that upper lip pigmentation has lightened considerably.

I also use homemade Manjistha Overnight Serum and the Liquorice Toner along with this to get best results.

Manjistha Face Pack For Normal-Dry Skin

By adding honey and oats, this face pack becomes highly nourishing and calming.

This face pack takes care of tightness from dry skin and any irritation or inflammation that you may have.

  • Manjistha Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Ground oats – 2 Teaspoon
  • Honey – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Raw Milk/Yogurt – To mix

I use rolled oats to make oats flour. You can use steel cut oats if that’s what you have on hand.

Regular use helps heal your skin and adds a glow. I love this face mask. 🙂

This face pack is suitable for the cold winter season too.

My Suggestion

  1. I recommend using skin brightening and lightening face packs only during the night time. And, Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen in the morning to maintain an even skin tone and avoid sun tan.
  2. You can use this pack everyday BUT Remember, DO NOT SCRUB WHILE RINSING.

Scrubbing everyday is bad for your skin and may result in darker skin. So even if you are tempted to massage/scrub, absolutely refrain from doing so.

3. This is not a miracle face pack so although you may see instant brightness, Lightening scars and marks take at least 8-12 weeks so give it enough time to work.

Just rinse the face mask off. Follow up with toner and a good moisturiser.

Warning – Just like turmeric, Manjistha may stain your skin lightly. Do not fret, it will go away on its own soon.
