8 Besan Face Pack Recipes For Healthy Skin | Kadalai Maavu Face Pack

Besan Face Pack – Gram flour has been used by our ancestors for centuries and it is certainly one of the most effective ingredient against various skin problems. Besan is super cheap which makes it affordable for most people. You can also use gram flour as an effective alternative to bath soap. I grew up with my grandparents and they always use either gram flour or mung dal flour instead of soap. It works as a great exfoliator and leaves your skin smooth and soft.

Besan acts as a natural cleanser, effectively removing dirt, dust, and external pollutants. It also helps to eliminate excess oil and toxins while exfoliating the skin and promoting healing. Besan brightens the skin, soothes inflammation, and fades sun tan. It helps in controlling oil production and lightening blemishes, including dark underarms. The zinc content helps to reduce pimples and acne. With consistent use, besan can even remove unwanted hair, tighten the skin, and reduce pore size.

Turmeric has antiseptic properties and is anti inflammatory too. This helps treat and prevent acne breakouts. Using turmeric ensures faster wound healing and helps maintain clear glowing skin. The anti inflammatory properties does help in soothing inflamed skin. Just like gram flour(besan), turmeric also has the ability to reduce unwanted hair growth. The antioxidants in turmeric provides antiaging benefits on a budget and delays the signs of ageing

If you have dry skin, Go for hydrating ingredients like Banana, milk cream or olive oil/almond oil to combat dryness. They help nourish, brighten and moisturise the skin leaving it soft and supple.

Oily skin beauties can use besan face wash daily for 30 seconds-1 minute BUT, I would not recommend it for other skin types. If used everyday, Besan can be too drying for normal-combinational skin types.

Use besan face packs 2-3 times a week only.

Gram flour can be drying so do not overuse.

Make a thick paste of all the ingredients mentioned in the below face pack recipe.

Apply a thick layer on your face and neck.

Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes.

Rinse it off.

Follow up with a toner, moisturiser or sunscreen for best results.

Use these 2 face packs 3 times week to dry out pimples and prevent new ones from popping up.

You can use rose water or even green tea instead of curd BUT, these tend to dry faster when compared to curd.

It is desirable to leave the face pack for at least 20 minutes for the ingredients to work its magic.

  • Gram Flour – 1 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4-1/2 Teaspoon
  • Neem Powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Curd – As needed to make a paste

The combination of gram flour, neem, turmeric and curd help control excess oil, pull out bacteria and clear pores, promotes skin repair and faster healing too.

The antimicrobial effect of neem together with the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect of turmeric works in preventing further infections.

Curd moisturises and exfoliates dead skin cells revealing younger looking skin.

Consistent use of this face pack heals your skin completely and makes your skin clear and smooth.

I have already mentioned the Turmeric Face Pack Benefits And, why you should be using it in your skincare routine.

If you want, You can add lemon juice to both these face packs.

Since i have sensitive skin, lemon juice is a complete no-no for me.

Once a week, You can let this body pack dry completely and then rub it off to get rid of dead skin cells. This leaves your skin super soft and smooth. I haven’t seen any side effects from doing so.

This face pack helps instantly brighten your skin tone and get rid of excess oil leaving your skin squeaky clean.
