Re’equil Murumuru Damage Repair Hair Conditioner Review

re'equil murumuru conditioner review

Do you have high porosity hair? Are you searching for a protein conditioner to repair your hair? Well, you are at the right place. Today I am going to share my experience with the Re’equil murumuru conditioner that has hydrolyzed pea protein and seed butter to nourish and repair your hair.

As I mentioned in my Re’equil Babassu conditioner review, First do a porosity test by dropping a hair strand into a glass of water. If the hair sinks to the bottom of the glass then this conditioner would be perfect for you since what your hair needs now is protein.

I want to make it clear from the beginning that this review is not sponsored. The insights and thoughts I am about to share are from my personal experiences, as I bought and used these products independently. Your trust is important, and I am here to provide an honest review based on my own firsthand experience with this conditioner.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Murumuru Seed Butter is derived from the seeds of the murumuru palm tree native to the Amazon rainforest. It is rich in fatty acids that soften the hair cuticle and remove friction between hair strands, giving tangle and frizz-free curls. Murumuru Seed Butter has enriching emollient properties that penetrate the hair shaft to seal in essential moisture, adding much-needed bounce and slip to curly hair.

Hydrolyzed pea protein undergoes hydrolysis, which breaks down the protein into smaller peptides or amino acid chains. This improves the penetration of peptides and proteins into the hair shaft, strengthening the hair from within.

PACKAGING

The Re’equil Murumuru damage repair conditioner comes in a convenient tube packaging. The tube is very travel-friendly and comes in sample size too.

FRAGRANCE

The scent is really mild and pleasant, and it did not trigger my migraines so overall I am happy with this product.

HOW TO USE IT

After rinsing out your shampoo, depending on the length of your hair, take the required amount of conditioner in the palm of your hand.

Spread it evenly starting from the ends of your hair and working your way up.

Comb through with your fingers or use a wide-toothed detangling brush.

Wait for 3 minutes and rinse off the conditioner.

FIRST IMPRESSION

The texture of the conditioner is thick, and creamy and has great slip. This conditioner has cetyl esters which help smooth frizz but, it may cause product buildup. Do take notice of your hair texture after using this conditioner. If it is soft and bouncy, everything is perfect. In case you end up with dry hair or limp hair, what you need is a clarifying shampoo.

REVIEW

The texture of the Re’equil conditioner feels rich and feels like a hair mask to me. You do not need a lot of product so a little bit goes a long way. It does provide a good slip that it is easy for me to detangle my hair. I usually just use my fingers to comb through but feel free to use a detangler.

My hair was never in a bad condition to begin with. I have never chemically treated or bleached my hair so it was just a little dry and frizzy because of the weather but again, not damaged. Never had split ends either so I cannot comment on that.

RESULTS

Once I rinse the conditioner off after 3 minutes, my hair feels a lot smoother and softer. However, when fully dried, I noticed that the conditioner didn’t provide as much moisture or nourishment as I expected. While my hair remained soft and tangle-free, the ends did not appear as healthy as I hoped. The ends of my hair just looked not-so-healthy. This conditioner really added a shine but even with a leave-in serum, my ends still had a poofy appearance.

Does this conditioner weigh down hair? Nope, it did not weigh down my hair at all, It maintained its natural volume, and my hair still looked as poofy as ever.

Overall, this conditioner was not bad but not great for my hair either. It felt the same as any other conditioner out there. I did not find any changes in hair texture at all. My hair used to love protein masks so I wonder what happened this time around. So my journey to find a holy grail conditioner continues.
