Olay Retinol 24 Review – We cannot stop aging obviously but ,we can age slowly and gracefully. There are various anti-aging treatments available like lasers, Botox, fillers, face lifting procedures and more that help in keeping our skin plump, fresh and youthful. But what should you do in your 20’s to have healthy skin?
The answer is pretty simple – Double cleanse, Exfoliate with AHA/BHA (at least once a week), Moisturise, Use Vitamin C, Sunscreen and Retinol correctly and regularly. Pat the products in, this ensures better absorption and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. Face massages also help with lymphatic drainage and give a natural face lift.
In your late 20’s or early 30’s, include ceramides, hyaluronic acid and peptides in your skin care routine either as a serum or moisturiser. At this point your skin must have already been used to higher concentration of retinol too which is great for keeping those pesky lines and wrinkles at bay.
Hydrates skin for 24 hours and penetrates deep into skin’s surface layers so you wake up to younger-looking, radiant skin.
Visibly Improves: Fine lines & wrinkles, Smoothness, Brightness, Firming, Dark spots, Pores
Patch test recommended. Do try the sample pack first before investing in the huge tub.
BENEFITS OF RETINOL | NIACINAMIDE | PEPTIDES
Retinol helps exfoliate the skin and increase cell turn over rate leading to brighter and smoother skin. Retinol stimulates the production of collagen and reduces the appearance of open pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It neutralises free radicals and delays the 7 signs of ageing. Regular use ensures plump wrinkle free youthful skin even in to your 60’s.
Niacinamide helps control excess sebum and minimises pore size. It does help reduce hyperpigmentation and brighten the skin. Using niacinamide does reduce redness and irritation while also moisturising the skin. It is a good antiaging ingredient that works on improving skin elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles.
Amino peptides protects our skin from free radical damage and helps boost collagen production. Even though both niacinamide and peptides are gentle and moisturising on the skin, they do show visible results in reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Amino peptides take around four months to show results though.
📌 NEW TO RETINOL
Use at night time only.
Start slow by using retinol products 2-3 times a week with recovery days in between. Once your skin gets used to it, you can use it everyday.
Beginners MUST start with a low concentration like, 0.025% and work your way up.
Apply retinol creams 30 minutes after washing your face, you can either mix it with your moisturiser or apply it over a moisturiser until your skin gets used to it.
Do not mix or use retinol with AHA, BHA, Vitamin C and Benzoyl peroxide.
You can use retinol with Niacinamide and ceramides.
Lastly, Use sunscreen religiously and reapply as often as needed as your skin may be peeling, sensitive or even sore when starting with retinol. If you are lazy like me, use a Stick sunscreen.

I did give Olay products a try a few years back but my experience was pretty meh, it just did not work for me. This review is based on my mom’s experience with Olay retinol 24. She has been using this cream for more than a year now along with COSRX snail mucin moisturiser. She has been using Olay products since forever – Age 58 with oily skin.
Olay retinol 24 cream is a fragrance free light weight cream which is super easy to apply. It spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly. Using a barrier repair moisturiser helps with the initial peeling and burning sensation. This also helps lock moisture in for a long time and is beneficial for those with dry or sensitive skin. This entirely depends on your skin and how it tolerates retinol.
Olay retinol 24 has a very silky texture and a non greasy velvety finish. There is a warm and tingling sensation on the skin which goes away quickly. She did not experience any breakouts, purging or skin irritation while using this product. I still recommend trying out the sample pack first.
If you have dry skin, do use a separate moisturiser on top or under as this cream may not be enough to provide sufficient hydration to your skin.
The Olay retinol 24 cream does moisturise the skin leaving it soft, smooth and supple. This product did reduce the appearance of fine lines NOT instantly but in about 3 months, probably because she has a lot of sun damage Otherwise, You can see noticeable difference in just 4 weeks in terms of skin hydration, tone and texture. The fine lines are not completely gone even after using the product for this long. Personally, I think the serum might be better choice than the cream as it penetrates much deeper in to the skin.
She genuinely loves the Olay retinol24 cream and will repurchase. I think she is on her 3rd tub now.
