Here i am back with a review of Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum. This is such famous skin care product that i really wanted to give it a try. As i have sensitive skin, i could not take the risk of buying the bigger bottle. I ordered a trial size of the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum before buying the real thing.

So let us see whether it is worth the hype.

Ingredients

The below ingredients may not suit sensitive skin.

• Cananga Odorata Flower Oil
• Orange Peel Oil
• Lemon Peel Oil
• Eucalyptus Leaf Oil
• Lavender Oil

Although this serum has the above oils, it did not irritate my sensitive skin so i am guessing the concentration of these oils may be too low to cause any kind of effect. Just to be safe, Do a patch test first on the back of your ear.

The below ingredient may not suit acne prone skin.

• Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fungal Acne Trigger 🙁 It has a comedogenic rating of 3/5.

How to use

After cleansing, apply about 3-4 pumps of the soothing serum to the whole face. Use the hands to pat into the skin. Once the soothing serum has fully absorbed, apply a layer of the soothing cream to the whole face.

Fragrance

Pleasant scent, Similar to chamomile, celery or citrus like, i think. I am pretty bad at pin pointing scents. However, the scent does not irritate my nose or cause headaches.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum and Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Face Mask, Both have kind of the same scent. Again it is what i felt.

Price

1387 for 80 ml ( March 2019)

The price for a serum is certainly on the higher side because of their potent ingredients. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum is no exception to that. But it has 80 ml product compared to 50 ml product that many of its counterparts have.

Consistency

Transparent gel type. It is neither watery nor too thick.

It gets absorbed easily. There was definitely no oiliness left behind. Klairs soothing serum is hence suitable for layering with other products and makeup.

My Experience

Skin Type- Normal Sensitive

As my skin is on the sensitive side, there aren’t many serums and creams in the market that i can go for. Before buying the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum bottle, i definitely had to check whether it suits my skin. And hence i ordered the trial pack first and used it for about two weeks before buying the full size bottle.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum is gel type and fast absorbing. It can be used either in the morning or the night routine. The soothing serum has a cooling effect on the skin. It makes your skin soft and smooth. I used it along with the unscented Klairs Toner

I kept the serum in the refrigerator so it was extra cooling and soothing for my sensitive skin.

This serum is good for sunburned, heated and sensitive skin. In other words, The serum certainly works to soothe redness and inflammation. However, I do not have acne so i cannot say whether it works to calm redness in acne prone skin.

Finally, This serum by itself provides sufficient hydration for my skin. My skin does not feel dry or stretchy if i just follow up with a sunscreen.

Unfortunately after using it for more than two months, i do not see any difference in skin tone or texture. 🙁 There isn’t any miraculous effects on my skin. I still like it because it soothes my skin and helps to retain that healthy glow.

What Does This Serum Do?

It works to heal and calm your skin while hydrating it. Hence i believe the effects would be easily noticeable on those with skin problems like redness, sunburn, sensitivity to sun, heat, other irritation from acne medication, chemical peels, retinol.

Most importantly, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum can be used with stronger ingredients like retinol and acne medications without interfering with its ingredients. It provides a nice balance of healing and hydrating the skin.

You have to follow up with a moisturiser as the serum by itself may not provide deep hydration especially for dry skin.

Recommended For

Those with dry, itchy skin.
Those with unbalanced, acne-prone skin.
Those who has easily heated, red skin.
Those that can’t easily choose their skincare products due to sensitive skin.

Do I Recommend Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum ?

Yes, Go for it if you are in need for something to soothe and calm irritated skin. It helps your skin look healthy.

Else, it is better to invest in other serums with more anti ageing benefits.
