How To Make Aloe Vera Hair Oil At Home For Hair Growth

Here is how you can make a homemade aloe vera hair oil for hair growth. This oil helps with hair fall, dandruff and other scalp infections. It also helps to nourish the scalp, adds shine and stimulates hair growth. Aloe Vera hair oil is perfect for dry and damaged hair too. Adjust the recipe according to your needs.

Warm this Aloe Vera oil and apply it twice a week. You may keep it overnight although 3-5 hours should be enough. Shampoo as usual.

Recipe 1

  • Coconut oil- 500 ml
  • Aloe Vera- 1 leaf
  • Gooseberry- 10

Cut a single leaf of aloe Vera, a large fleshy one if possible. Let it sit vertically for half an hour to drain the yellow liquid. Now wash the leaf and cut it into small pieces. Blend it along with gooseberry flesh. Mix the blend with coconut oil and pour it in to a nonstick pan.

Let it sit on medium flame, stir occasionally.

It takes around one hour to get a clear greenish coloured oil. Everything else sets to the bottom. Now the aloe Vera hair oil for hair growth is ready.

Let the oil cool down. Strain and store it. Use the oil twice a week as part of your hot oil treatment. Let it sit for 3-5 hours before shampooing your hair.

  • If you are allergic to coconut oil,Or have oily, sensitive skin substitute with almond oil, Olive oil, castor oil instead.

Sensitive Skin 🙁

I am allergic to the green part as well as the yellow liquid that drains out from the Aloe Vera leaf. Hence i have used only the scooped flesh of the Aloe Vera leaf for making this oil.

I add a few drops of castor oil to the warm aloe oil to boost its benefits.

Keeping any hair oil for more than 5 hours gives me a headache and therefore i tend to wash it off after 5 hours. I haven’t had any negative effects from using this oil so far.

Recipe 2

The below recipe is what my grandma used to make. I have spend most of all of my childhood and teenage years watching her make different kinds of DIY recipes for us.:)

She uses coconut oil but i have substituted it with olive oil for those who cannot use coconut oil.

  • Olive Oil – 1 cup
  • Aloe Vera gel – 1 cup
  • Pearl Onion – 10
  • Curry leaves/Guava leaves – Handful

This hair oil helps cool down a hot head and sweaty scalp. It also nourishes the scalp and darkens your hair all the while promoting hair growth.

Do not boil Olive oil on a high flame. Keep on medium flame and cook.
