We are going through some tough times filled with fear and anxiety with the Corona lock down. As we are confined to our homes, this is the perfect time for an immunity booster drink. This Homemade Immunity Booster Drink  recipe is pretty simple to make.

Not only does this drink strengthen your immunity, this drink helps flush out toxins and thus will help cure pimples too.

Drink this once a day But, NOT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. 

Why Do We Use Super Foods?

Super foods are nutrient rich and contains antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They help maintain healthy function of the digestive system, help control blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol levels while also strengthening your immune system.

Some of them even protect your cells against cancer and premature ageing.

Similar to ginger, garlic also helps fight the symptoms of common cold and flu. It helps fight both bacterial and fungal infections.

When it comes to our body, Holy basil keeps our stomach healthy and helps in maintaining our blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure at normal levels.

Recipe

This drink does help in cases of flu, sore throat, PMS and menstrual cramps. It does promote circulation, better digestion. It may warm you up and may make you sweat.

  • Hot water – 1 Glass
  • Green Tea bag – 1
  • Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
  • Garlic – 1 pod
  • Turmeric – 1 Pinch
  • Honey – 1 or 2 Tablespoon
  • Lime juice/Mosambi Juice

Note – Any citrus fruit would do like, Sweet lime (Mosambi), or adding 1-2 Teaspoon of fresh lime juice would suffice. This is to give it a punch of Vitamin C.

Options: You may add a pinch of cinnamon and 10 holy basil leaves to this drink.

If you do not have green tea, just skip it and follow the rest of the steps as given below.

How To Make A Homemade Immunity Booster Drink

Take a cup of hot water.

Add a green tea bag to it. If you have holy basil(Tulsi) with you, you may add them now.

Peel ginger, garlic and crush them. Add these to the hot water. You can substitute fresh ginger with ginger powder.

Add 1/8th of a teaspoon of turmeric powder, cinnamon powder(If using any) to it

Close it with a lid and Leave it for 15 minutes. Let the juices seep into the water.

Once the water turn warm, Add lime juice/Sweet lime juice/Orange juice to it.

For sweetness mix in honey and stir

Strain the tea.

(As you can see in the above pic, Everything just settles on the bottom anyways so i usually avoid this step and drink it as it is. My husband also does the same.)

As i mentioned before, you can drink this Homemade Immunity Booster Drink once a day to boost your immunity, flush out toxins and maintain overall health. Just avoid drinking it on an empty stomach.
