When the scalp Ph is acidic, the hair turn dry, frizzy, damaged and brittle. This homemade hair conditioner helps bring down the scalp ph to a normal value. This hair rinse also has antioxidants, Vitamins, minerals which help treat the scalp and get rid of dandruff and itching promoting a healthier scalp.

In short, it helps keep the scalp free from bacterial, fungal and yeast infections that cause dandruff, itching and irritation, hair loss. This conditioner repairs and prevents dry irritated scalp and frizzy hair. It leaves the hair soft and silky without tangles.

This is one of my favourite hair conditioners. The recipe can be found below.

How To Use This Conditioner?

Pour over shampooed hair and wait for five minutes. Then rinse off.

For best results,

Apply oil to your hair and leave it for at least 1 hour.

Shampoo as usual.

Pour this homemade conditioner over your hair. Leave it on for 5 minutes.

Rinse off.

How Often Should You Use This Conditioner?

  • If you have normal-dry scalp, Use twice a week
  • If you have oily scalp, you may use this thrice a week.

I use this hair rinse three times a week although i have pretty normal scalp. It works fine or me

Adjust the apple cider vinegar according to your scalp.

Those with dry hair should add less vinegar and those with oily hair can add more vinegar. Play around with it to find out what works for your hair.

Never add more than 5 tablespoons though.

The Curry leaves & Fenugreek mixture can be used everyday though without any negative effects as it is not acidic and hence does not affect the scalp Ph.

Recipe

In the video, i have given the recipe on how to make it for 1-1.5 litres for later use. So here i will mention how to make just enough for a single use.

  • Water – 1 glass (250 ml)
  • Curry leaves powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Fenugreek powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • ACV – 1 Tablespoon

How To Make This hair Conditioner?

Bring 250 ml of water to boiling temperature. Add 1-2 stem of curry leaves to it.

You may also use curry leaves powder. I prepared mine at home but you can easily find this online like here. It costs around 195/- for 250 grams of curry leaf powder.

Adding curry leaf powder makes this conditioner more concentrated and hence better results. I have tried both methods and got better results while using homemade curry leaf powder.

curry leaves powder

Add one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to it.

Switch off the stove and place the lid. Leave it for about 1-2 hours and let it cool down completely.

Now strain the mixture.

Finally, Add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to it. You may add more ACV (1 Tablespoon) if you have oily scalp.

Here i have used homemade ACV. It is super simple and will not burn a hole in the pocket.  I will post it in the coming weeks.

Try this homemade hair conditioner to tame frizzy hair. It shows results from the first use itself. For scalp issues, you may need to use for regularly to get rid of the problem completely.

Isn’t this an easy recipe? It stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks for me. And that is why i prepare one litre and store for future use.

I also use other homemade hair conditioners depending on how my hair behaves. I will be posting those recipes in the future.
