My Experience

I have normal sensitive skin.

When i apply Lotus Herbals matte sunscreen, I get a burning sensation on the upper lip area. But it is nothing serious as it goes away in a couple of seconds. I waited to see whether there was any redness in the area but fortunately there was none.

As i have been using anti ageing ingredient Retinol to my skin care regimen, I have skin peeling which is invisible to naked eye. At least that is the case for me. I always use deep emollient moisturisers to hydrate and speed up the healing process with Vitamin C serum. So i did not feel any dryness after applying the Lotus sunscreen

If you have dry skin, the sunblock may accentuate your dry patches so make sure to moisturise properly before applying the sunblock. The finish of this sunblock is definitely matte. 🙂

There is no white cast or heaviness to it. It is comfortable as long as you are not sweating.

I have not tanned since using this so it does a good job in preventing a tan. Preventing a tan and avoiding sun damage is the first and most important step in getting an even toned, freckles and wrinkle free skin.

Reapplying after 3 hours may be an issue in the case of Lotus Herbals 3-in-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock. The end look is not even and appears weird. You may have to wash your face and then reapply especially for dry skin beauties.

Is Lotus sunscreen waterproof?

No, Lotus Herbals 3-in-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock is not water proof or sweat proof.

Is it suitable for summers?

That is a tricky question because as long as you are not sweating or are in an air conditioned environment it will work absolutely fine. 🙂

If you are roaming out in the sun and sweating Then sadly it will be mess. 🙁 The sunblock will come off with every wipe. You can even see the orange colour coming off.

What To Do In Summers?

Go for water proof moisturising Sunscreens that suits your skin type. You can also opt for foundations with an spf factor of 30+++.

Pros:

  • Suits my sensitive skin
  • Affordable
  • Tinted sunscreen hence has slight brightening effect
  • Prevents Tanning
  • Matte finish
  • No white cast
  • Light weight
  • Easy to Blend
  • Protects against UVA and UVB radiation
  • Best suited for oily skin
  • Does not cause breakouts

Cons:

  • Contains Isopropyl Myristate that has a Comedogenic Rating (5) 🙁
  • It may cause acne breakout for oily acne prone skin
  • Not waterproof
  • Dry skin beauties must use a deep moisturiser

Will i recommend this to everyone?

Yes, i would recommend this to every skin type except Acne prone skin.

Who should avoid  Lotus Sunscreen ?

Avoid this if you have,

  • Extremely dry skin
  • Acne prone skin
  • Done chemical peels
  • Strong acne meditation which causes peeling
  • Done cosmetic procedures which may have effects like redness and peeling.

You may feel a burning sensation if you apply this under the above circumstances. It will most likely accentuate the patchy dry areas too.
