PATCH TEST RECOMMENDED
First time users should definitely do a patch test for both henna and indigo(Black henna). I have seen that some people have an allergic reaction to these, Black henna in particular. It could also depend on the brand of henna you are using.
Make sure you are using a good quality product for best results.
HOW OFTEN CAN I USE HENNA ON MY HAIR?
You can use it every 3 weeks to maintain the rich colour.
Since henna is completely natural, you do not have to worry about any adverse effects. I once had roommate who used to apply henna once a week as part of her self care routine.
DOES HENNA MAKE YOUR HAIR THICKER?
Yes, henna does promote hair growth and helps increase the thickness of your hair. Use the ingredients that i have mentioned below for best results.
HOW LONG DOES HENNA LAST ON HAIR?
Henna does last for about 4-6 weeks before starting to fade. So it is preferable to use henna pack once a month. Using a mild shampoo also helps the dye last longer.
DOES HENNA COVER GREY HAIR?
That is tricky, why?
In reality, Henna per se just turns grey hair to orange shade. Later you need to follow up with indigo(black henna) to turn that orange tint to jet black colour. Its a 2-day process but it works. I have been using this henna-indigo pack for years to dye hubby’s grey hair black.
You get the orangish tint only on grey and blonde hair. On other darker shades of hair, the dye leaves a beautiful reddish or brownish tint.
WHY DO WE USE IRON VESSEL?
Iron helps bring out the colour as it helps in better dye release.
DONT HAVE A IRON VESSEL?
Don’t worry, just put a few iron nails or hair pins in the henna mixture and leave it overnight. This trick works just as well as the other one.
HOW MUCH HENNA DO WE USE?
100 grams of henna should be enough for men’s hair or super short hair.
200 grams for shoulder length hair.
300 grams for long hair.
HOW MUCH TEA DO WE NEED?
One cup(210ml) of the tea-coffee blend is enough for mixing 100 grams of henna.
HOW LONG TO LEAVE HENNA ON HAIR?
Leave it on for about 2-4 hours.
We both usually leave it on for about 2 hours.
