Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume Review

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume Review – This cream is used to heal and repair the skin in cases of irritation like itching, patchy skin, redness and simple dryness of the skin.

The antioxidants, ceramides and emollients in this hydrate, soothe and promote wound healing for better skin health, texture and quality.

I use this with minimalist serum and this combination seems to be working for me.

Colour And Texture

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume is white in colour.

It does not have any fragrance in it.

The texture is quite creamy but not too thick like a balm either. It spreads without effort. But it does not get absorbed to a matte finish.

bioderma intensive baume

There is certainly a slight greasiness and sticky feel to it.

I usually rub half a pea size of the cream between my finger tips and then, pat the skin rather than massage the cream in.

Ingredient Benefits

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume has many ingredients that are carefully selected so that it does suit irritated and sensitive skin.

These ingredients soothe and calm irritations while also, encouraging cell repair.

Ingredient analysis credit

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume ingredients

Glycerine And Mannitol

Glycerine helps moisturise the skin by pulling moisture from the surrounding to your skin.

Mannitol and hyaluronic acid are used together to hydrate the skin and improve skin quality. They latch on to the water molecules and prevent it from escaping.

Mannitol is used for conditioning the skin as well as to moisturise dry skin.

Mineral Oil

Cosmetic mineral oil helps seal water molecules and thus prevents drying of the skin. This helps hydrate the skin for longer duration.

Note – Cosmetic grade mineral oil is not the same as the petroleum by-product.

They are made in the lab and is considered as one of the most safe moisturisers especially for dry skin.

Zinc Gluconate

Zinc gluconate is anti bacterial which helps prevent acne breakouts.

This ingredient helps treat itching and irritation on our skin and promotes skin repair and healing.

It also has the ability to control excess sebum production which certainly helps with those struggling with acne.

Consistent use of zinc gluconate encourages cell regeneration and thus improves skin quality and texture.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

An antioxidant that also works as a great moisturiser.

It helps protect the skin against the free radical damage caused by the UVB rays of the sun.

Phytosphingosine

Anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties shown by this ingredient is good for acne prone skin as it inhibits acne causing bacteria from wrecking havoc on the skin.

Works to improve the defence mechanism of the outer layer of the skin.

Ceramides

Ceramides prevents moisture from escaping the skin’s surface.

These molecules not only keeps our skin hydrated but also repairs the skin’s barrier.

Ceramides are naturally present in our skin But, due to various reasons or even aging we tend to lose ceramides.

This decrease in ceramides does result in dryness of the skin.

Price is on the higher side BUT it is worth every penny 🙂

At times, this feels heavy on my skin.

Maybe the mineral oil and glycerine just sits on top of my skin. So, less is more in this case OR, your skin may feel suffocated and uncomfortable.

Honestly speaking,  It does leave bit of stickiness and a greasy layer behind. That is why i use it at night.

What Is Not So Good About Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume?

This cream has many ingredients that could act as Fungal Acne trigger 🙁 🙁

Although i did not have any reaction to any of these ingredients, that may not be the case for everybody.

If you are sensitive to fungal acne triggers like the below ingredients, skip this cream please.

  • Sunflower oil, does not clog pores though
  • Sucrose stearate
  • Polysorbate 60
  • Sorbitan Isostearate
  • Vitamin E oil (Comedogenic)

That concludes the Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume review.

If you have any questions, leave a comment below and i will be happy to help you.

Have a Nice Day. 🙂

  1. After applying as per my doctor advise my skin has become very dark. Should I continue or not please let me know. I had black patches on my face

    • Hi Malathi, Please discontinue since you could be allergic to any of its ingredients. You can go for other pharma moisturisers that suits your skin like the ones I have mentioned here – https://peppyblog.com/best-moisturizer-for-dry-skin-in-india-you-must-try/
Sorry, I’m not a doctor so couldn’t help you more. If problem persists, please consult your dermatologist for better advise. Also, if you have sensitive skin like me, then go for samples/trial kits available on Smitten app(Bioderma/dot&key/Plum), Beautybarn and Maccaron before going for the full size product.
