LAKME CC CREAM INGREDIENTS
I was seriously disappointed when i saw the ingredient analysis. It had more chances of wrecking havoc on my sensitive skin.
Lakme CC cream contains Stearic acid, palmitic acid and Potassium chloride and hence may not suit super oily and acne prone skin. 🙁 🙁 Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Sunscreen) may cause irritation on sensitive skin. Although it did not cause irritation on my sensitive skin. It may react differently on your skin so be mindful of that.
REVIEW
Skin Type – Normal Sensitive
I did buy the shade bronze 3-4 years ago and it was too dark and orangish on my skin. I gave it away and never bothered buying it again. When I was browsing I came to see that lakme has introduced four more shades and there were so many reviews. Plus it was on sale. I decided to try my luck again with the shade ‘Beige’. And this would be my third purchase from the range.
By the way you can see how much product is left in the tube which makes things little bit easier.
CONSISTENCY
Lakme CC cream is creamy when compared to Garnier and Ponds BB cream.
The BB cream does spread easily and blends right away without needing any extra effort. It might probably be due to this winter season, it set to a matte finish on my normal skin.
OXIDISATION
The lakme cc cream does turn to a darker shade after some time of wearing it. So buy a shade that is lighter than your skin tone.
FINISH
Unlike Garnier and ponds BB cream, Lakme cc cream does not need a moisturiser underneath. It does set to a matte finish but, it certainly did not cause dryness, stretchy skin or accentuate dry patches.
SHADE MATCH
As you can see below, i am not of fair skin tone, even then the shade beige blends perfectly with my skin tone.
IRRITATION/BREAKOUTS
While it does have scary ingredients in it, it did not irritate my sensitive skin nor did it cause breakouts. My face felt warm for a while after applying this cc cream though. I wonder why. I kept stealing glances at the mirror to see whether there was any redness. But fortunately, there wasn’t any.
SPF
Lakme cc cream does have UV filters but it is less than the recommended SPF 30+++. It is not a broad spectrum sunscreen which means, it does not block all the UVA rays of the sun. This cream protects our skin from the harmful UV rays for a mere 100 minutes only (1.5 hours)
Plus, the recommended amount of sunscreen for face and neck is half a teaspoon. There is no way we can apply that much CC cream without looking like a clown. Hence, Do not depend on this for sun protection. It is certainly not enough to protect your skin.
CONCLUSION
Lakme cc cream does brighten my skin without causing any irritation. I tried a heavy moisturiser before applying this and it worked fine. Next, I applied a sunscreen with spf 50+++ over this cc cream and it still fared really well although the finish turned dewy rather than matte.
None of these combinations irritated my skin or cause breakouts. The shades available matches most if not all of the Indian skin tone. It sets to a natural tone in a couple of minutes and does not appear cakey or paint face. And that concludes my Lakme CC Cream Review.
