How To Remove Sun Tan From Face, Hands And Legs

minimalist sunscreen review

How To Remove Sun Tan From Face, Hands And Legs – Today i am going to talk to you guys about the goodness of the herb HARITAKI, one of the 3 ingredients in thriphala.

This face mask is an all-in-one mask that does little bit of everything from moisturising, brightening to anti-ageing. Say YES to soft, smooth, even toned and younger looking skin.❤️

Before we go into the recipe, There are a few thing you need to be aware of for your own benefit.

PREVENTION

Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with spf 30 or spf 50.  Use the recommended amount of sunscreen that is, 3 fingers full. Also, reapply as often as needed

It is best to avoid the direct sun during peak hours like 10am – 3pm.

Cover up as much as possible because, sunscreens do not provide 100% protection against the UV rays of the sun.

HOW TO REMOVE SUN TAN IMMEDIATELY

There is no miracle ingredient that removes tan instantly but there are things you can do to speed up the natural skin lightening process.

Ingredients that work efficiently in lightening sun tan are,

  • Vitamin C
  • Alpha arbutin
  • AHA(Alpha hydroxy acid)
  • Sunscreen

Sunscreen does not lighten the skin directly rather it is there to protect the skin from further damage while the other skin lightening and exfoliating ingredients do their work.

If you are not using sunscreen, start using one now. You may hate me as i do repeatedly say this at every little chance i get but, Sunscreen is very important for healthy, even toned and youthful skin.

AHA like glycolic acid or lactic acid does help exfoliate the skin at a faster pace revealing the new younger looking skin cells underneath. These cells will be in original skin colour and are very much sensitive to the UV rays so use a sunscreen religiously to protect them.

Use AHA serum as recommended by the brand for best results. Usually it is advised to use the serum once a week for just 5-10 minutes and rinse off with water. Follow up with a soothing moisturiser afterwards. Skip physical exfoliants(scrubs) altogether or use gentle oats based scrubs instead.

Vitamin C needs no introduction. This antioxidant helps brighten your skin, neutralize free radical damage and promote collagen production. I did dedicate a whole post to this so i am not going to repeat everything again. If you are interested do check it out.

Alpha arbutin is a safe skin lightener that works by inhibiting the enzyme Tyrosinase. This helps in slowing down the melanin production and hence the skin appears brighter.

Just 3-4 weeks of alpha arbutin serum will show significant changes in your skin complexion. Do not use alpha arbutin for more than 3 months at a time.

HOMEMADE DETAN FACE MASK

This homemade face mask uses the herb Haritaki also known as Kadukka or Chebula in English.

Did You Know?🤔

This underrated little berry provides the same benefits as vitamin C with its effectiveness lasting longer than the other antioxidant.  Haritaki is often used in Ayurvedic preparations to promote healthier, brighter and even toned skin.

If you did read my Manjistha Skin Lightening Oil Recipe, You can see that i did use haritaki as one of its ingredients. It is scientifically proven to brighten the skin and with no side effects whatsoever. So why aren’t we using such an amazing ingredient in our skincare routine? That’s just sad.😥

Read on to know why i cant recommend you enough to include haritaki in your skin care.

REMOVE TAN FROM HANDS AND FEET

Mix this powder with little bit of water just enough to make a smooth paste. Apply it on your hands and feet. Massage gently for 2 minutes and leave the pack on for 20 minutes. Rinse off and pat dry.

Using AHA face/body wash on my hands and feet also helped me a great deal in fading sun tan. Trust me, It really works.👍

Use a body sunscreen like Nivea SPF 50 to prevent photo damage.

Alright, now that is it for today. Hope it was useful. See you guys again next week.😎

    • Hi Daksha, you can find Haritaki in both its raw and powdered forms on Amazon. You can also check out your local ayurveda/siddha herbal stores, as they usually carry these items. Keep in mind that the herbs name might vary based on your state.
