HOW TO USE TEA TREE OIL?
Being anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, There are many uses for tea tree oil like fighting acne, body odour, fungal infections.
TEA TREE OIL FOR ACNE
Mix a few drop to your moisturiser or aloe vera gel
For spot treatment, Wet your q-tip with water, add a single drop of tea tree essential oil to it and dab on the pimple.
MOUTH WASH
To make a mouth wash, add 1 drop of tea tree oil to half a cup of water.
This helps soothe the gums, relieve pain and reduce bad breath.
TOE NAIL FUNGUS
For toe nail fungus, mix 1tsp of tea tree oil with 1tsp of Vicks vapour rub. Apply twice a day.
You can apply tea tree oil directly to the affected nail but, remember to apply Vaseline or Vicks vapour rub to the surrounding area of the nail to protect the skin.
DANDRUFF
To treat dandruff, mix a couple of drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo or add 2 drops of essential oil to coconut oil and apply on your scalp.
HEAD LICE
Treat lice with tea tree oil spray, mix 5-7 drop of the oil to a cup of water. Transfer it to a spray bottle. Use daily on damp hair.
MY EXPERIENCE
Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree Oil Review – Skin Type(normal sensitive)
I bought the tea tree oil for treating my itchy scalp with dandruff and toe nail fungus.
📌 For my scalp, i mixed 2 drops of tea tree oil with warm coconut oil and massaged it on my scalp. I did leave it on for an hour before shampooing.
Doing so instantly relieved my itchy scalp and it took a month to get rid of dandruff.
As a preventive measure, i now add a few drops of tea tree oil to my mild shampoo. It is working well so far.
📌 As for my toe nail fungus, i added a few drops of tea tree essential oil to 30ml of undiluted apple cider vinegar and applied this mixture on the affected nail twice a day after shower.
This natural remedy does work effectively to cure the fungus completely. It did take some time to cure it completely though, it is still better than taking medicines like Itraclar that come with side effects.
TIP – Clipping the nail as much as possible lets the oil sink in and treat the fungal infection faster. Do this after shower or let your foot soak in salt water for 30 minutes. It will be easier to clip the nail when its soaked with water.
CAN YOU ADD TEA TREE OIL DIRECTLY TO THE TOE NAIL FUNGUS?
You can but it may not suit everyone, Do a patch test first before applying the essential oil to make sure you are not allergic to it.
Do not forget to apply Vaseline to the skin surrounding the nail.
Since i have sensitive skin, I never tried applying undiluted tea tree oil. So i cannot really comment on its efficiency.
